Make it a December to Remember in Muskoka

We’re into the cold season and all the winter fun which comes along with it. With December about to arrive so too are all the year-end holidays. There’s plenty of ways to celebrate the season of light, giving & caring; this time is best spent with family and loved ones. Check out the list below, these are just a small sample of the exciting winter holiday happenings you can find around Muskoka, Happy Holidays to all!

Santa Claus Parade in Baysville.  Head over to the village of Baysville on December 9th for the annual Santa Clause Parade.  Starting at 1:00 p.m., this parade goes around town, twice!  The perfect way to spread some cheer with young kids or grandkids.

Christmas Concert & Contana. Enjoy memories of holidays gone by and the traditional songs everyone loves with the Huntsville Community Chorus Christmas Concert & Contana. Two days of performances to choose from – December 14th and 15th at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. If you love carols and holiday music, you won’t want to miss this!

Ride the Portage Flyer to the North Pole. December 22nd is when you’ll want to be at Muskoka Heritage Place for a special holiday train ride. The Portage Flyer Christmas Train Ride is the perfect family tradition to experience during the holidays. Travel along the Muskoka River to Fairy Lake where Santa will be waiting; with plenty of fun and treats along the way.

View the Torchlight Parade. Hidden Valley is the premier skiing area around Huntsville and home to a unique Muskoka holiday event. This year’s Torchlight Parade will take place on December 24th.  Enjoy hot cocoa at the Chalet while watching the amazing parade of lighted torches carried by Ski instructors and patrollers come down the Flying Dutchman run.

Ice Skate with the Family. There’s fun for all ages to be had on New Year’s Eve during the free Family New Year’s Eve Skate Party. Bring your blades and a non-perishable donation to help support families in need and skate the night away on December 31st at the Canada Summit Centre in Huntsville.

No matter how you celebrate the season, we hope you have a joyful and safe holiday, from our family to yours.
