Different Ways to Give Back in Huntsville this November

The holiday season has begun, and the spirit of giving is alive and well. As we head into November and closer to the big winter holidays, Huntsville has several ways you can give back and help those in need, along with some family-friendly community events to enjoy.

Give the gift of life, donate blood at the next Huntsville Community Blood Donor Clinic, coming up November 10th. Head over to The Canada Summit Centre & The Active Living Centre between 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and give a pint, there’s always a need for donations; make it a day and go with a friend or co-worker.

As one of the largest towns in the Muskoka region, Huntsville is an excellent hub for resources including all your shopping needs. The next time you head over to the Huntsville Place Mall to find some holiday gifts, check out the different ways you can help the less fortunate. has the following fundraisers listed for the mall:

Food & Clothing Drive, November 12th

Teddy Bear Fundraiser & The 2nd Annual Babes & Tots Fundraiser, November 17th.

Bring your gently used clothes and non-perishable food donations and your teddy bear gifts to help the Table Soup Kitchen Foundation give some happiness, warmth and meals to folks in need. You’ll also find a great vendor market being added to the mall in support of the Babes & Tots Fundraiser, not sure what to get? You’ll find something there to be sure!

Enjoy a night out with a good ol’ southern meal while supporting the Fairvern Nursing home on November 15th with 3 Guys & a Stove. A Night in New Orleans will give you an incredible culinary experience with a 4-course Louisiana meal. There will be 2 seating sessions with tickets available through the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce. Add in a silent auction and plenty of fun in support of the Fairvern Initiative to rebuild this vital resource for our senior community.

What better way to head into the end of the year than a parade? Be sure to be in Downtown Huntsville on November 30th for the annual community favourite, the Santa Claus Parade. The whole town will be out along Main Street  & King William Street for a lot of family fun; you won’t want to miss it!  Show up at 6:00 p.m. for the tree lighting ceremony and live music before the parade begins at 7:00 p.m. This is a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.

As a visitor or year-round resident there’s lots of wonderful ways to get involved with the Huntsville community and have plenty of fun too.
